Kabji Hoka Tsho

Image
Kabji Tsho is located at Punakha, Bhutan. It is 30 minutes drive from Khuruthang town till Zhozhi Zampa, Kabesa.  The second junction from the Zhozhi zampa takes you towards Chorten  Ngyebu lhakhang, the winter residence for Gyelsey Tenzin Rabgay. Since, the lhakhang sits on the  top of the Kabesa Village, the views are  amazing and the beautiful Bali village is just opposite to the lhakhang. Upon reaching the start point, one can either park your car near the lhakhang or take a road which diverges just before reaching the Lhakhang. The road takes you few turning until the end of the farm road. The footpath is on the side of concrete irrigation channel and it is not recommended in summer. The slippery muddy trails and the leeches make the trekking in summer less adventurous. The walk takes upto two hours for average walkers through ridges of lower elevations and altitudinous trees.  Throughout the journey, the sweet chirrups of bird, cool breeze and views of...

Chagri Dorjeden Monastery

Image
As I recall my childhood memories, I realised that I was more engaged into visiting monastries. listening to the significance of Monasteries excited me than playing with friends. My late father had history of almost all the monasteries and dzongs in his figure tips.  Before going to bed, he used to share the history of Bhutan. Of all, he was more into Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel history(Namthar). Every time I go on vacation, he will have a history book in his hand and make sure to narrate it to the neighbors. At that point of time, I did give any importance to his interest and I am not trying to fake my late  father interest either.  I wish I would have that opportunity once again so that I could use this for meaningful purposes.  One of the important place in history of Bhutan is Cheri Monastery located at the northern end of  Thimphu Valley.  It was found in 1620 by  Zhabdrung Ngawang  Namgyel,  the unifier of Bhutan.  It sits on the hil...

Before it's gone

Image
Often, I have difficulty in making myself fall asleep. But it cannot be defined as depression as long as it does not last long. It may be a bad one for others but I consider it a moment of peace in occupied world. It gives me a time to understand the reality of the life. It makes me feel the need of valuing the people around me. It makes me detached from the unneccessary things around me. Whether its beautiful lie or a harsh truth, the moment of peace helps to choose the righteous.  It gives me the strength to move forward. The environment we live in has a  crucial role to play and it must show us the right path to understand the purpose of being born. One way, it is good that we have competitions and try to do better in life because we follow the same thumb rule. But, the sad reality is we must understand our purpose in life. One cannot expect all the people to  have same journey and achievements. We were born differently for different reasons.  Never ever compare/c...

Mother's Day

Image
Imagine where would you be without a mother?Would you be there if a mother does not exist in the world?  Mother is someone who sacrifices everything for her children. She is a bold woman with strong mentality. Nothing can ever replace the love and sacrifices made by the mothers. No matter what personalities and living standards the mother has, she is alway a kind hearted  towards her children. Having to hold for nine months in her womb uncomfortably. Having to bear the pain while delivering the newborn. The pains and difficulties are uncountable. Still, she manage to smile and take care her children. She is a real wonder.   Therefore, we should never forget to acknowledge the sacrifices she has made. Respect your parents, love them when they are alive because they deserve your time. You may have the busiest life  but the time for your family is crucial. Once they are gone, you can't buy their time with your money and status. I am sharing this because I have lost...

Drakgay Phangtsho

Image
Throughout my life I have always enjoyed walking through the nature. I really don't know why but as I get matured, I realize that nature has bigger thing to offer. Hiking to Drakgay Phangtsho, one of the popular lake in Bhutan was not less than that.  Ten of us started our journey from Kichu Lhakhang at 3.00 A.M on 01st November,  2020. Travelling in a Bolero Camper was the best option as the road condition from Drukgyal Dzong was worse to travel in a small car.  After reaching the start point near lhakhang Charee Tsen Goenpa, we took  hot tea and snacks to envigorate the energy while hiking to our destination. We started our hike exactly at 5:30 A.M from the base in morning moonlight and the views were something that cannot be ignored. The walk was tough and tiring climbing uphills for more than three hours but the alluring view worth the struggle.  The name of the lake has been derived  from the local deity Ap Dragay.  According to the caretake...
