Solidarity Conquers Adversity
We know that the brutally nasty corona virus, which broke out in Wuhan, China, has killed many people around the world. The number of infected people skyrockets every day. This viral epidemic has now been declared as the global pandemic by the WHO. It has been a source of fear, panic and anxiety triggering a global economic meltdown.
On a hindsight, it reminds us of the impermanence of life and the futility of our attachment towards wealth and loved ones. The power, wealth, status and character are not differentiated by the deadly virus. Apparently, it is immune to corruption and doesn't leave anyone who comes in contact with it. Understanding its lethality, the world leaders are tirelessly working hard to combat and contain it.
Bhutan is blessed with the compassionate and dynamic King and adept Government of the day, who have taken diligent measures to ensure the health and safety of the Bhutanese both at home and abroad. We owe our deepest gratitude to our King and the Government for our conscientious measures and preparedness plans to deal with this viral nuisance. Literally, we are far ahead of many developed countries in terms of preparedness plans and interventions. This attributes to His Majesty’s wisdom, foresight, and of course his selfless sacrifices.
Inspired by His Majesty’s profound leadership, our health personnel are at the frontline risking their lives to protect our people. Many of them have left their families to serve our King and the country, and to safeguard the precious health of our people. In order to make their fight against the Covid19 stronger and victorious, our police force and Desuung have fearlessly joined the force. It is a moment of joy to see other volunteers follow the suit. And for us, those at home and in quarantine, the least we could do is to sincerely abide by any regulations imposed by the Government. Let’s listen to what our Government has to say and avoid practices which are detrimental to our measures against the Covid19.
